From Martin Wuerthner Tue Aug 21 17:19:31 2001 Newsgroups: comp.sys.acorn.announce MW Software Press Release 21-Aug-01 Today's topic: * ArtWorks finally ViewFinder compatible * High-resolution bitmap export from ArtWorks * How to update your copy of ArtWorks GDraw 2.97, DitherExtend 0.50 ----------------------------- I am happy to announce that ArtWorks is finally compatible with all screen modes offered by the ViewFinder graphics card. Until recently, ArtWorks rendered incorrectly to true-colour (16M colours) screen modes with a width of more than 1024 pixels. This was caused by a limitation inside GDraw, the main rendering support module, which also limited the size of bitmaps that could be exported using the BMExport module. The latest version of GDraw, version 2.97 finally copes with any screen resolution. An additional fix, provided by David Bryan, corrects problems with anti-aliased rendering in 32k colour modes. This problem was caused by an incompatibility of ViewFinder with the way the DitherExtend module worked. This means that ArtWorks can now be used in high-resolution ViewFinder modes, e.g. 1600x1200 at 16M colours and that the size of bitmaps that can be exported using the BMExport module is only limited by the amount of available memory and hard disc space. How to update your copy of ArtWorks ----------------------------------- The latest version of AWViewer, the free ArtWorks file viewing utility containing the latest versions of both GDraw and DitherExtend and extensive installation instructions, is available from my web site: http://www.mw-software.com/software/awmodules/awrender.html Further ArtWorks bug fixes and enhancements ------------------------------------------- Do you have all the latest free ArtWorks bug fixes and enhancements?
